MARJORIE ANN DEWIT (nee Pilla) Marge DeWit of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away peacefully on November 2, 2009 at the age of 73 with her family at her side. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Slim, her children, Debbie (Denis), Shelley (Jim), and Randy; as well as her cherished grandchildren Ryan, Renee, Nicola, Carey, Carli and soon to join the family her first great-grandchild. Also left to cherish her memory, her sisters, Francis and Florence their families, and sister-in-law Marg and her family. Marge was predeceased by her brother, Arthur in November 2008. Marge was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba on April 30, 1936. The family later moved to Baldur, Manitoba where her parents managed the Baldur Hotel. Mom had fond memories of the hotel, even though they all worked very hard. Mom and Dad met in 1953 and married in 1955. She devoted her life to her husband and family, their home and garden. She loved to bake treats for all her grandchildren and was a caring person who put everyone else's concerns before her own. Mom loved spending time with her family and was a strong influence in all her grandchildren's lives. She enjoyed the kids' cabins, her fly-in fishing trips at West Hawk Lake with Nicola and Carey. Mom enjoyed boat rides and watching Ryan and Renee tubing and skiing at Lee River. Mom loved her time with Carli whose first steps were taken with her. She was so happy Randy had a daughter to take care of him. Turns out they are Best Buddies! Special thanks to 2E Riverview staff, especially Dr. J. and Alice. Thank you to all family and friends who visited Mom. A special thank you to their neighbour, Barb, and a heartfelt thank you to Aunty Marg for all her love and support over the years. A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday, November 5, 2009 between 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Green Acres Heritage Room.
