IVAN VRBANIC March 3, 1928 - November 3, 2009 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear Tata, and Deda. Tata passed away peacefully with his family at his side. Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his enduring legacy is his wife, Marija, of 61 years, six children, 15 grand-children, and eight great-grandchildren. His legacy includes Janice (Brian), children Bob (Linda) and Barb (Chris), Kate (Martin) children Michael, Martina, and Marko, Mira (Bob) children Christine (John), Joey, and Derek, Barbara (Drago) children Christopher (Joanna) and Stephen, Mike (Tammy), children Anthony, Meaghan, and Mitchell, Jelena (Glenn), and children Amanda and Nicole, as well as his eight loving great-grandchildren. Tata will be remembered by sister Kate and her children, sister-in-law Zora and son Val along with numerous relatives from Canada and Croatia. Tata was born in Cetingrad, Croatia, where he married Marija Medved on February 15, 1949, and had three daughters. Tata left his homeland of Croatia in 1958 for Austria then to Canada in June 1959, where he was later joined by his family, and three more children were born. Tata enjoyed his many family pig roasts. He was very involved in the Croatian Community with building of the church, and the Croatian Community Hall in Lockport, MB. Tata was proud of his Croatian Heritage and watching his children and grandchildren dance kolo. Tata enjoyed watching soccer, playing bocci ball, fishing, camping and in the last few years he loved walking. Tata always loved having people around him, with open arms and even a bigger smile. Prayers will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street with Monsignor Stan Jaworski, P. H. officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. We would like to thank all the caregivers who have helped and supported our father. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. Death leaves heartache that does not heal Love leaves a memory no one can steal. 586-8044
