Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE KUNIO MIKI Les(lie) Miki passed away suddenly and peacefully on the morning of Sunday, November 1, 2009 surrounded by his family at the age of 71 years. Les, the son of the late Kazuo and Shizuko Miki, is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joanne; daughters, Tamara (Aaron) and Kelli; son, Todd (Angela); as well as his grand-children: Ramses, Khaymann, John, Levi and Isaac. He will be sadly missed by his siblings, in-laws and their families: Arthur (Keiko) Miki of Winnipeg, Joan (Brian) Jalmarson of Vancouver and Roy (Slavia) Miki of Vancouver. Born in Vancouver, Les was uprooted with his family to a Manitoba sugar beet farm in May of 1942 and spent his early years growing up in Winnipeg. After finishing his drafting course, Les moved to Regina to work with Robert Yoneda's engineering firm working his way up to senior partner. Later, together with Lucien Lee, they established LML Engineering which consumed much of his time and was a source of happiness and accomplishment. Les was active with his community, including the Japanese Canadian Association of Regina having served as their president. Most of all he will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, love of family and strong work ethic. The family would like to thank the staff of the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic and the nurses of the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit for their love and care. Funeral Mass will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Christ the King R.C. Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina.
