Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLINE HAYDEY September 19, 1919 - October 26, 2009 Caroline passed away on October 26, 2009, at Riverview Health Centre, after a lengthy illness. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Teresa (Archie), son Richard (Donna) and her grandchildren Peter, Matthew and Lisa. She is also survived by her brother Walter (Frances) and numerous nephews and nieces. Caroline was predeceased by her husband Peter; parents Pauline and William; sisters Nellie, Victoria and Eugenie; and brothers Larry and John. Caroline was born in Fitkiw, Poland, came to Canada as a young child, and grew up in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. She left the family farm to complete her high school education, while working to support herself. Caroline went on to complete a Pedagogy (honours) degree, BA, B.Ed. and MA. A Manitoba Teachers Society Scholarship enabled her to complete a Ph.D in Philosophy in Munich, Germany. She taught in a number of schools including Rockwood, Grant Park and Greenway. Caroline enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and could always be counted on to support their many endeavors. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre. A very special thank you to Comforts of Homecare companions Brigit and Martha; and music therapist Jaclyn Volk, for their care and compassion. You truly helped mum through a very difficult time. There will be a private family celebration of Caroline's life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Caroline's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
