Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRACE HILL (MCCLELLAN) NUTTALL Our family sadly announces the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend on November 4, 2009, at the age of 94 at the Riverview Health Centre. Grace Hill McClellan Nuttall was born January 19, 1915, in Winnipeg, to Elizabeth Hill and Chester McClellan. She attended General Wolfe, Greenway and Daniel McIntyre schools. After graduating from High School she attended Success Business College. Grace married James Alfred Nuttall in 1945, and spent over 40 years living on Springside Drive in St. Vital, making many friends in the neighbourhood. Grace was predeceased by her beloved Alf in 2002, her parents, and her three sisters, Ruth Bacon, Beth Farrer, and Rae Pringle. She is survived by her daughters Jan Thiessen (Grant) and Nancy Stanwick (Richard), two grandchildren, Ryan Thiessen and Christina Thiessen (Casey), and one great-grandson, Callum Young-Thiessen. Grace is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rae Nuttall of Winnipeg, and brother-in law Clarence Nuttall of Melita, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom's love of music, playing the piano and singing were well known. She often spoke of family trips out east with her parents and sisters to visit cousins and other relatives, and what fun they had on the road. Our family heard many accounts of her life as a child growing up in the west end of Winnipeg. She and Alf enjoyed activities with their friends, such as dancing, playing cards and bowling. They also enjoyed many years of traveling to the U.K. and across North America. Grace loved her grandchildren very much as she and Alf spent many hours looking after them as they grew up. We will never forget her warm personality and ever-present smile. Grace was a long-time member of St. Vital United Church and Regent's Park United Church (both now St. Mary's Road United Church) where she taught Sunday School for many years, sang in the choir, and was a member of the United Church Women (UCW). She supported many charities during her lifetime. A memorial service to celebrate Grace's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road, St. Vital, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Agape Table Soup Kitchen, 676 Portage Ave., P.O. Box 26111, Maryland RPO, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3R3 in Grace's name. Our family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion these last few years.
