I spent many great times will Bill as he entertained us at parties. He played at my wedding in Aug 1986 and was fantastic! Along with Rob Pelly and his orchestra. He was gifted and loved to entertain.. just recently he was remembered by John Einarson at a gathering in Whistler MB and I searched him online to realize he had died. I miss him. He played with Neil Young and the Squires. I did not know him then but he always spoke highly of Neil! - Posted by: Robert Riess (Friend ) on: Nov 12, 2024

I met Bill about 50 years ago, when he was the entertainment at the Celebrity Room in Champs Hotel. We hung around together till I left Canada 30 years ago. I had no idea he had passed away, so take care wherever you are Bill Edmondson. Bill was known as a guitar pickin' folk singer after he left the Squires, but my best memory of him was one night we both went to a coffee place on Portage Ave. (gone) and Bill went up and played a drum solo on the group that was playing there's drum kit. He had that whole place dead silent till he finished and then erupted in applause for him. That was easily the best drum solo I ever heard, and a highlight in my life. The good die young; goodbye Bill! - Posted by: Laurie Cyr (Friend) on: Jun 15, 2019

Willi was a good friend. We had many sing alongs over the years in Calgary and Winnipeg. I'm greatly saddened that we lost him earlier than expected. I wanted to call him and see how things were going but now just have my memories -RIP - Posted by: Robert McDonald (chopper) (freind) on: Dec 17, 2018

My wife Judy and I met Bill soon after Neil and Ken asked me to join The Squires. I was 17. The few months I spent with Bill in the Squires where absolutely terrific. We went everywhere and played everywhere. Judy and I had spoken with Bill a few times in our travels back to Winnipeg and did indeed see him playing at the Forks. I just recently heard about his death from a new author writing a book about Neil during his early life up to the Squires. I'm sure Bill would have loved to be involved in the new book. Judy and I often talk about those days and Bill is always in the conversation. He loved life and we loved him. We will miss him and are sorry that he is gone. Best wishes to his family from Jeff and Judy Wuckert. - Posted by: Jeff Wuckert (Band member "The Squires") on: Feb 04, 2012
