GEORGE (GORDON) PICKERING Peacefully on October 30, 2009, with his loving daughter Audrey by his side, George (Gordon) Pickering passed away at the age of 68 years. In the years prior to his tough battle against sugar diabetes, Dad spent the majority of his life working very hard driving truck. Through it all his wife, Joey, was right there by his side. Dad is sadly leaving behind his three girls ; Charlotte, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren Alley, Ashley (Quinnell) and Paul, Audrey, son-in-law Geoff, grandchildren Hanna and Myles, and Lucy, son-in-law Richard, grandchildren Rensie and Skylar. Dad always said "My girls make me so proud I'm glad I didn't have boys" ...........until his sons-in-law came along and added so much humour and laughter to his life. Dad loved his children but WOW did he love his grandchildren. Everything from lending them his car to helping raise them from babies. Even when Dad's health was taking over him he still did his part by letting the babies nap with him and watching over them while mom was running after the others. When any of his grandchildren were around him he would light up and shine in pride and happiness. They all were truly his pride and joy. Dad also had four-legged grandchildren that he helped babysit and care for - Beethoven, Toro and Buttercup will love you forever. This also includes his great-granddaughter, Brodie. As Dad was proudly watching his grandchildren grow up before his eyes, there came Brodie...sent from heaven. She definitely was Dad's joy and entertainment as she helped Amma take care of him. She was his 2', 24 lb. nurse that made his day with her care and attention. Lastly, his wife of 45 years, Joey. Mom loved Dad with her whole heart, every day and every minute. She physically took care of him and emotionally was his support for all that he went through. Dad had tough days but through it all he loved his Angel wife and was very grateful for her. We will tearfully know that you have open arms from Grandma, Grandpa, Amma and Sleepy in heaven to welcome you and take care of you. Please continue to watch over us and know that we will Love You Forever. XO In compliance with George's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held.
