LEN ROWELL January 7, 1935 - October 31, 2009 We announce the peaceful passing of a beloved husband, brother and friend. Mourning his loss is his wife June, sisters Josephine (Lorne) Blair and family, Victoria (Bert) Blair and family, sister-in-law Florence Jordan and family, Aunt Olga Lapuk and family. Rallying to his aid at a crucial time gave him the desire and determination to stay with us a while longer. Our thanks to Dr J. Ormiston of the Transcona Medical Clinic. Len was employed by the City of Winnipeg for 37 years and during this time achieved a C.M.A. degree. He retired in 1989. He enjoyed many sports throughout his life, golfing at Elmhurst (Tom) and 10 pin bowling at Chateau. A quiet, gentle man with a keen sense of humour and a fine singing voice. Easy going, strong, tall, dark and handsome. Special thanks to Jerry and Anne Collard, Norm and Joan Woodward and Jack and Pat McKay for their dedicated support. Thank you Jean Cobb for your invaluable assistance. With a grateful heart, my thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at 1A Riverview for the compassion, respect and dignity shown Len during his stay. Thanks also to Jackie Sproule, Chris, Cara and Bear. Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service, a private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Len's name to Riverview Health Care Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. I close my eyes and see your gentle smile and feel your warm embrace.
