SANDRA DAWN WALKER August 25, 1946 - November 3, 2009 Sandy passed away November 3, 2009 with her loving family by her side, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her father George 1972; grandma D. Beattie 1992; stepdad Charles Gardiner 2004; and soulmate husband Harvey 2005. Sandy is survived by her son Patrick; mother Kay; her cat Jamie; and granddog Bear (our family saviour). Sandy graduated R.N. from Winnipeg General Hospital 1967 where she worked in Psychiatry for 12 years, two years Winnipeg Remand Centre, 22 years at Addictions Foundation Manitoba where friends became family. Diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1997, Sandy took an early retirement in 2003 due to her illness and to look after Harvey who had Multiple Myeloma. Harvey's death was devastating for her and our family. Moments Lost Like Teardrops In Rain. Sandy was helped by mom, Pat, Brenda and Ron, Roberta, Heather and Art, Loretta and Juergen, Karen, Josh, Laurie and Bert, Robert and Paula, Kerry and Bill, Ivy and Dave, Heather, Ross, Fedak Clan, Winnipeg Model R.R. Club (Morgan), Missabe Historical Society (Pete and George) Duluth, Minnesota. CancerCare Dr. J. Johnston and Erin, Seven Oaks Oncology, Dr. J. Lezack, 5th Floor 3rd Unit, and all friends and neighbours. Special hugs to my Tuesday afternoon Support Group. Keep up the Fight! I love you all. Sandy touched the lives of many and was a True Angel on this earth. God has called upon our nurse to continue her work in heaven. Sandra Walker R.N. God be with you til we meet again A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue across from Brookside Cemetery.
