Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHEILA LORRAINE GORESKY It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of our mother Sheila Lorraine Goresky (nee Thomsen) of Stonewall on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 surrounded by her family. Mom was predeceased by her son Phillip (1970), her first husband Nick Goresky (1993), her second husband Don Goudy (1997), her parents Mary and Paul Thomsen and her sister Doreen Stromberg. To cherish her memory are her children, Judy (Lance Matthew), Gary (Cathy), Gordon (Leslie), Bonnie (Robert Brennan); her dearest friend Bill Smith; her grandchildren, Crystal (Doug Fright), Phillip (Susie) Hepner, Patrick (Elisa) Hepner, Heather (Jason Caslor), Bryan (Chrissy Thevenot), Pamela (Donald Slater), Nick (Niki Sarriallon), Glenn and Haley Brennan; her great-grandchildren, Joe and Brooklyn Fright, Eric and Alec Hepner, Zara and Kyle Hepner and Dallas Slater; nieces, Linda Rupert, Cindy Zorn, Lori Stromberg and their spouses and children; her stepchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Winnipeg on December 11, 1930. She married the man of her dreams, Nick Goresky, on May 3, 1947 and together they had five children. Mom loved to entertain her children and grandchildren and dearly loved her great-grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed coming to Mom's house because of all her baking and cooking. She loved dancing, music, travelling and sports and was always telling jokes. Mom was always so happy, loving and caring and her house was open to everyone. The family would like to thank all of the homecare workers and nurses who took such wonderful care of her. Special thanks to Janet for the last few days with Mom. Funeral service was held on Friday, November 6 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. Pallbearers were Nicholas Goresky, Bryan Goresky, Terry Goresky, Phil Hepner, Glenn Brennan and Donald Slater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest District Palliative Care. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
