ANGELA ELEANOR KATE OSTROWSKI (nee BLANDFORD) With deep sorrow and disbelief, we mourn the sudden passing of Angela Ostrowski on November 5, 2009. Angela (Kate) is survived by her husband Melvin; children, Darrell and Tammy (Ferd); grandchildren, Ferdinand, Hannah, and Joshua; brother Jack (Irene); sister Hazel (John), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Kate, and her brothers, Ray, Ron, Frank, and Vic, and sisters, Kathleen and Edith. Angela was the youngest of nine children, born on May 17, 1937 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. After moving to England as a child, she returned to Winnipeg for her teen years, eventually marrying and having children. Angela was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Throughout her life, few things made her happier than her dogs, the Jets, her Saskatchewan roots, living in Charleswood, time spent at the lake, and her Anglican Faith. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and residents on the 8th floor of Lions Supportive Housing for taking such good care of Angela. Although our hearts are broken and many tears have been shed, we are comforted in the knowledge that God has welcomed her and helped celebrate her very first Heaven Birthday (Thanks, J.D.) A celebration of Angela's life will take place on Thursday, November 12 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Boulevard, in Winnipeg. Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service, which will commence at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
