Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN GEORGE HENSON October 11, 1944 - November 7, 2009 It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend John George Henson. He exited our world peacefully for a better place on Saturday, November 7. He was predeceased by his father George. He is survived by his wife Lynda of 41 years, daughter Marcia (Jana), granddaughter Taylor, son Blake (Jill), mother Caroline, sister Judith (Glenn), brother-in-law Don (Sheila), cousin Mary Theresa (Paul), numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Glen, Gerry and Raymond. John's distinguished career at Manitoba Blue Cross spanned 34 years and he retired in 2009 as Senior Vice President. He took pride in his work and loved both his job and those he worked with. He was truly honoured to be a part of the company as it grew over the years. The family cottage in Spruce Bay was always a hub of activity, whether it was John completing his to-do list, golfing, watching movies, playing cards, participating in the annual horseshoe tournament or enjoying time with family and friends. This was ultimately where he became vacation John . John made a difference in the lives of many and tried to live by the Golden Rule. He was a very loving, compassionate, honest and selfless man who will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. We'd like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Fiona Crow and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. A celebration of John's life will take place on Friday, November 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn (4000 Portage) Ave. following a private family interment. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter at 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y1. WE LOVE YOU JOHN AND WE'LL MISS YOU ALWAYS!
