ELSIE FIEBELKORN (nee Schmidtke) 1927 - 2009 It is with sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Elsie on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Concordia Hospital. Elsie leaves to mourn her loving husband Louis, son Gordon (Janice) of Winnipeg, daughters Geraldine (Art) Otto of Beausejour and Doris Chestnut of Winnipeg; grandchildren Christine (Roy) Lewis, Sandra (Doug) Stoyko, Coreen (John) Anderlum, Glenda (Mike) Bjarnarson, Lyle Otto, Stephanie Chestnut and Christian Chestnut and nine great-grand-children. She is also survived by her sisters Gwendolyn Fiebelkorn, Wilma (Rudy) Nikodem, Marlene (Dave) Omichinski, Joan (Gordon) Otto; brothers Henry (Audrey) Schmidtke and Wilbert (Eva) Schmidtke, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Reinhold and Lydia Schmidtke. Mom was born on July 21, 1927 in Steinbach, MB, baptized on July 31, 1927 and confirmed on November 2, 1941. She married Dad on October 12, 1945. Mom grew up in a Christian home and continued to be a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Beausejour until her passing. She took great pride in her whole family. A celebration of Elsie's life will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. East, Beausejour, MB with Pastor Artem Litvinov officiating. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Beausejour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Box 538, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
