WILLIAM (WASYL) YURKIWSKI January 10, 1922 - November 9, 2009 After a brief illness, William passed away with his family at his side, at Health Sciences Centre. As he wished William never had to move out of his home. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Anne Marie and Victoria (Terry) and his grandchildren Tamara and Larissa. He is also survived by his sister Tanya and family in the Ukraine. Bill was predeceased by his wife Tamara (Marta) and son Anthony. Bill immigrated to Canada with his family in 1948, living first in Grunthal and then Winnipeg. Bill worked in construction all his life, opening McPhillips Construction Ltd. in 1960. It was a family run business with his wife behind him every step of the way. The birth of his granddaughters brought a very special joy to his life. The family would like to thank all of Bill's Home Care Workers, especially José and his We Care' companions who helped give him the 24 hour care he needed for the last two weeks to remain safely in his home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
