Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID (LARRY) SARGEANT David Larry Sargeant, 74, Truro, passed away November 10, 2009 at the Q.E. II Health Science Center, Halifax, Nova Scotia after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Manitoba, he was the son of the late David and Edith Sargeant. Larry worked for over 30 years with Manitoba Hydro before retiring in 1990 after which he moved to Nova Scotia. Larry volunteered for many years with Drug Awareness, the Navy League Cadets and was a proud member of the Truro and District Lions Club. He was known by many, young and old, as Uncle Larry . He will be sadly missed. He is survived by daughter Dawn (Ross) Dargavel, Lower Sackville; son, Troy (Dana), Winnipeg; brother Dean (Carol), Winnipeg; grandchildren, Justin, Mathew, Christopher, Colton and Hope. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Lions Tribute and Memorial service at 2:00 p.m., all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, N.S. with Rev. Sue King-Darby officiating. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
