Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN VAN HOORENBECK On November 8, 2009 Kathleen passed away at Concordia Place, after a long battle with Parkinson's. She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1971, her parents in 1976 and 1984, as well as her sister Nell and brother-in-law Henry. Left to mourn are her sisters Stella (Mike) Miller, Phyllis Milne, brother Al (Pearl) Penny, sister-in-law Mary (Maurice) Daeninck, as well as many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was a longtime employee with Eaton's. She enjoyed participating in curling, golf and cross country skiing. She took great pleasure in her garden, receiving many awards for her flowers as well as her pottery. Kathleen travelled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She found great comfort in her religious affiliation and was active in the Women's League at St. Mary's Cathedral and later attended Holy Redeemer Church. She spent many years volunteering at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. The family would like to extend our appreciation for the care and compassion Kathleen received at Concordia Place. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, 302-171 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1M4 or a charity of one's choice. Service of Remembrance will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 at Holy Redeemer Parish, 264 Donwood Drive.
