ROBERT (BOB) INGO CAMERON September 7, 1937 - November 10, 2009 Surrounded by family, with Gaither Gospel music playing in the background, Robert Bob Cameron passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital. Bob will be lovingly remembered and missed by his two daughters, Jody Lewis (Gary) and Jane Logan (Kris), his special little buddy Baxter along with his siblings, Joan St. Croix (Victor), John Cameron (Candy), Carole Ervick (Dale), Richard Cameron (Linda), Jean Leroux (Frank) and Larry Cameron (Bonita). His memory will also be cherished by sisters-in-law, Meg Cameron (Bill) and Sue Johnson, mother-in-law Helen Scott, brother-in-law John Moore (Bev), many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Bob was predeceased in October 2005 by his wife and best friend, Elizabeth Lee Cameron, parents Bernadette and Doug Cameron, in-laws Archie and Muriel Scott, brothers-in-law, Jim Ratchford and Terry Johnson, dear aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom have welcomed him into heaven. Bob had an incredible faith that carried him through some of life's toughest challenges over the past several years. His faith shone through in all that he did and he ministered to many through music, laughter and encouraging words. He was a man of God and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Bob was born and raised on the Lake of the Woods, Kenora, ON. He attended Mount Carmel School, KKDHS and St. Paul's High School (Winnipeg). After graduating from Red River Community College, Bob embarked upon a career in the aviation/helicopter industry when he joined Standard Aero Limited. Over his 37 year career, Bob served in various field service and management positions, gaining a reputation for integrity and excellence in leadership and customer service. Following retirement in 2002, Bob spent another seven years as a part-time consultant and instructor for Standard Aero conducting courses throughout the world. A man of many talents and passions, Bob loved music (especially Gaither Gospel music and Christmas carols), playing the guitar and banjo, leading sing-songs and watching his favourite movies and television shows. A true outdoorsman, he was never happier than when he was on his beloved Lake of the Woods. Whether it was fishing, hunting, house-boating or just sitting on the porch with family and friends talking and sharing memories, Bob was most content when his lake was in view. Bob's greatest gift was his ability to connect with young and old, people of all walks of life. He was a master storyteller and had an amazing sense of humour that entertained family, friends and co-workers. With a wealth of fond memories, everyone who had the privilege to know Bob are left to celebrate his life. Many thanks to Dr. Czaykowski, Dr. Drachenberg, primary nurse Denise Klassen and the entire team at CancerCare Manitoba. A heartfelt thanks to family physician Dr. Murray Cameron for his care of Bob over the years. Extra special thanks to Kris Springer and Germaine Leger of the W.R.H.A. Palliative Program and the exceptional medical team at the Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface Hospital whose care went far beyond the call of duty. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the Palliative Care Program, St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
