PATRICIA MASSEREY (nee KOLSUN) March 17, 1941 - November 9, 2009 After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Patricia, beloved mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 68 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Pat is survived by her daughters Michelle (Kent) and Aline (Ken); her son James, grandson Tyler Saywell, and former husband Jim. She also leaves to mourn her Auntie Lovey of Winnipeg and Uncle Donald of Edmonton and several cousins. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Kolsun and mother Helen Proveda (nee Tomiuk). Pat was an only child and grew up in Point Douglas. She always had a quiet determination about her and was known for her kind-heartedness. She would never say no to anyone who needed her help, especially her kids. She was always there for us. At Christmas the freezer was always full of goodies, she was an excellent cook, an avid reader and gardener. She spent most of her working life at Eaton's in the framing department where she could use her artistic skills. She looked back fondly at family camping trips, visits to Falcon Lake, and later Hawaii, Cuba, Mexico and Niagara Falls. Her grandson Tyler was her pride and joy. Special thanks to her lifelong friends; the aunties , Shirley, Marlyn and Marilyn who helped her and us in these last difficult weeks, also to all the staff of E6 and Emergency at the St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. with interment to follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
