JOHN MAYBANK With deepest regret, we announce the sudden passing of John Maybank at his home in Brockville, ON on October 28, 2009, at the age of 79. Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret Maybank. Devoted father of first family: Blake Maybank (Martine), White's Lake, NS; and Brenda Maybank Adam (Murray), Winnipeg, MB; and second family: Patricia Beausoleil (Roland), Kitchener, ON; Kathy Utri (Doug), Maidstone, SK; Doug Samms, Port Hardy, BC; and Norma Lacosse, Cornwall, ON. Proud Grandpa of Jodi, Joanna, Kristin, Kevin, Amanda, Dana, Serena and Darel, as well as eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Also survived by his brother Roger Maybank (India), and his first wife Catherine (Glover) Maybank (Saskatoon). Predeceased by his parents, Ralph Maybank and Dora (Boys) Maybank, and one brother, Michael. John was a humble man, an adoring husband, father and grandpa, and a true friend. He was a respected scientist, who enjoyed a long career in his field of Agricultural Meteorology and Climatology and has many peer reviews and publications to his credit. He will always be remembered for his quiet wisdom, his contagious thirst for learning, his passion for the outdoors, his wonderful sense of humour, and his genuine caring for people from all walks of life. A celebration of John's life will be held Monday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Cornwall. Rev. Randy McCooeye officiating.
