DANIEL SAWICZ Peacefully, on November 11, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital, Daniel Sawicz aged 70 years, beloved husband of Diana, passed away. Dan was born on March 29, 1939 in Sheridan, Manitoba. His family came to Winnipeg in 1952. In 1958 he sold his future wife Diana a pair of boots. That romance lasted 51 years. They had two children, Andrea and Darren. Dan was predeceased by his father John in 1987 and his mother Irene in 1996. Dan worked at the Winnipeg Tribune until it closed. He then worked at the Winnipeg Sun and Transcontinental until he retired in 1997. Being a naval reservist Dan joined their White Ensign Club. He enjoyed his time and outings with the ensign group. The family would like to thank neighbours and friends who have helped us through this time of need. The family would like to thank St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care staff for the wonderful care and understanding they gave Dan. At Danny's request, a private family interment has taken place. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, P.O.
