GUS WALTER TORGERSON July 14, 1922 - November 11, 2009 Peacefully, on November 11, 2009 Gus passed away at the age of 87. Gus was predeceased by his daughter Linda and his siblings Tilly, Gunnee, Arnold, and Bina. Gus will be lovingly missed by his wife Margaret; son Doug (Lori); grandchildren Todd (Angie), Kim (Rob), Chris (Amanda), Erik, Scott (Stacey), Jennifer, and Clayton; great-grandchildren Sara, Dylan, Jesse, Sydney, Kelsey, Curtis, Keaton, and Jayden; siblings Lloyd, Ann, Vi, and Gloria. Gus will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Gus was born and raised in Lillesve, Manitoba. He served overseas during the Second World War, after which he came to Winnipeg where he and Margaret made their home. He worked for the City of Winnipeg for over 35 years until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed carpentry, sports and his loyal companion Winston. Gus was a generous man, he loved his family and he will be missed. The family would like to thank the staff at the 6th floor of St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Dad. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations in Gus' name may be made to the charity of one's choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
