MARGARET (MARG) ISABEL HARDING, B.A., B.Ed. (nee RANKIN) Marg passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Calvary Place Personal Care Home on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband Calvin Eugene, mother Gladys (Osborne), father Leonard Rankin, and sister Lenore. Marg will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Margot (Sean), her three sons Calvin (Linda), Pat and Robert (Anna), and her grandson Declan. Marg was born in Winnipeg on June 21, 1929. She taught for over 25 years at schools in the rural Manitoba communities of Gilbert Plains, Rivers Camp, and Camp Shilo, and in Winnipeg at Kelvin, River Heights and Grant Park. Her passion was working with students who had learning challenges. After taking early retirement, she volunteered at Tuxedo Villa and delivered meals on wheels. An enthusiastic traveller, Marg visited Ireland and the UK, Continental Europe, Central and South America, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean and New Zealand. One of her favourite destinations was Varadero, Cuba, where she visited annually with her daughter Margot. She also spent many enjoyable summers with her family and her beloved cats at her cottage in Victoria Beach, MB. The family wishes to extend its thanks to the caring capable staff at the Calvary Personal Care Home. She looks forward to joining her dear husband in Heaven with Jesus. Should friends so desire, donations may be sent to any animal shelter. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 17 at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place.
