VALERIE ANN PETERS (nee Harder) With our love and deepest sorrow we announce that Valerie Ann Peters (nee Harder) of Winnipeg died peacefully in the arms of Jesus her Lord and Saviour on November 13, 2009. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Rick of 41 years, two daughters Krista (Alden) Neufeld of Phoenix, Arizona, and Karla (Michel) Banman, one son Mark Peters (Cheryl) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and precious grandsons Hudson, Jett and Liam; mother Ann (Henry) Neufeld, sisters Yvonne (Lloyd) Elias, Cheryl (Alvin) Wiens all of Winkler, Manitoba, brothers Ken (Valerie) Harder of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Gordon (Anna) Harder of Cranbrook, BC and nine nieces and nephews. Valerie will also be missed by her four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law and their families. Valerie was predeceased by her dad, Henry N. Harder in 1977, her mother-in-law in 1997 and her father-in-law in 2003. Valerie was baptized on the confession of her faith in 1971 at Grant Memorial Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to serving her family, and had a passion for life long learning. Valerie was a faithful educator for 28 years and loved her students, staff and parents. She was a co-founder of Linden Christian School, where she loved ministering to students, staff and parents. Valerie was a loving wife, exceptional mother and devoted grandmother. Her family, friends and colleagues will truly miss her. Viewing will be held at Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd. the evening of Tuesday, November 17, at 7:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The celebration service will be held Wednesday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church. Many thanks to all the doctors and staff at Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba for their compassion and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
