RUDOLPH DAVID ABRAHAMS With love and sadness, we announce the passing of Rudolph David Abrahams, in his 88th year, on November 14, 2009. He will be fondly remembered by his daughters Carol Boychuk (grandchildren Eric and Evelyn); Elizabeth Charlebois (husband Vic) (grandsons Victor and Calum); son-in-law Tom Thorsteinson and wife Cathy, (granddaughter Emily and Tim O'Connor). He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Erna Martens (Winnipeg), Arnold and Mary (Stonewall), Dav id and Anne (Brandon), Tina and Henry Schulz (Morris), Irene and Peter Defer (Winnipeg), and Herb and Rita (West Hawk Lake). He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sara, and daughters Linda Thorsteinson and Elaine Abrahams, as well as by his brothers Arthur, Victor, and Ernest. Rudy was born on March 11, 1922 in Schonsee, Russia, and the family emigrated to Canada in 1924 on the last sailing of the Minnedosa. He spent his youth on the farm at Pigeon Lake. He attended MCI (Gretna). During the war he worked with his brother Victor in Ottawa, as a censor for the Dept. of National Defense. He worked as a Stationary Engineer for over 30 years. After retirement, he began a second career at Linear Systems (Winnipeg) as a buyer and gofer for the business. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. Special thanks go to Debbie and the staff at the Lindenwoods Tim Horton's for their kindness and hospitality over the years.
