Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER LEOCHKO May 14, 1935 - November 14, 2009 It is with much sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father on November 14, 2009, at the age of 74, at the Selkirk General Hospital. His memory will be forever cherished by his daughters, Cindy (Paul) Yarish, Angela (Ron) Price, Dale (Greg) Shupenia and grandchildren, Wyatt, Morgan, Jesse, Dallas and Alexandria, Amanda and Evan. Dad was predeceased by his wife Rosie (nee Poworoski) in 2004, his parents Harry and Mary and his brother Michael. He leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters, Tony (Kathy), Harry, Tina (Peter) Boryskavich, Andy (Nori), and Mary Jean (Len) Marcyniuk as well as many relatives and friends. Dad was born in Poplarfield, MB on May 14, 1935. He held various jobs throughout his life such as working on the Dew line, driving a delivery truck, working at Headingley Correctional Centre and working for the City of Winnipeg. He married Rosie in 1958 and moved to their farm in Meleb in 1965. Dad (fondly known as Cowboy Pete) spent his retirement years going on trail rides with his Broke N' Busted Trail Riders, proudly participating in parades with his horse team, giving his grandchildren, friends and neighbours sleigh rides in the winter, and playing many games of cards with his friends and neighbours. Prayers will be held on Thursday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Pallbearers will be Jesse Price, Bruce Leochko, Jason Derusha, Mike Zolinski, Frank Dawson, and Ronnie Hayduk. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
