Surrounded by his family, he left this world peacefully. Stoney will be remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; his four children: Louise, Robert (Cecile), Michelle, Gisele (Connor) and special family friend Cindy. He delighted in his seven grandchildren: Joanne (Jason), Adam, Colleen, Chantal, Cameron, Gillian, Stephane; and his four great-grandchildren. Janelle, Patrick, Ciaran and Sarah. He will also be mourned by his brothers Robert (Jeannine) and Louis and his sister-in-law Denise. Stoney was born February 5, 1927 and raised in St. Boniface. He was predeceased by his father Adelard, and mother Anna (nee Cyr) as well as his brother Denis and his sister- in-law Jeanne. Stoney was employed for 40 years as a Carman for CN but his passion was for motorcycles and the wilderness. In the 1950s Stoney went on many motorcycle adventures as a member of the Manitoba Roughriders Association. Before long, Stoney and Joyce settled in Lorette with their four children. Most weekends were spent with the family, camping and canoeing or snowmobiling. Stoney loved going for drives with Joyce and later he enjoyed talking on his CB radio which kept him in touch with friends from all over the world. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home.
