DOLLARD TARDIFF -
Date of Passing: Nov 15, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOLLARD TARDIFF 1927 - 2009 On November 15, 2009, Dollard Tardiff was called peacefully Home. There he will be reunited with many family members including; the love of his life, Jeanne, his son Larry and daughter Rita. There will be a kitchen party in Heaven soon. Dollard was born in South Junction, part of a large and happy family that had an open door and heart policy and when he married he and Jeanne continued that lifestyle. Their home was open to children and animals of all descriptions. Many a weekend found Dollard singing and playing guitar with a gathering of family and friends in the large Mission Street kitchen. Huge family barbecues were a regular feature. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a craftsman in the true sense of the word. At one point or another every child in the Tardiff clan could be heard to say Pere can fix that . He was devoted to his wife and children and spent as much time with them as he could, patiently teaching and guiding them and that legacy lives in the closeness among them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of constant joy. Each grandchild has special memories of Papere . He will be remembered for his quiet strength, profound faith, unwavering love, razor sharp sense of humour and the scent of Old Spice aftershave. Dollard was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Jeanne, his son Larry and his daughter Rita Vandal. Those of us who must go on without him are his children Dianne (Ken Trinkl), Don and Yvonne, Ron and Ann, Faye, Gilles Vandal and Jill; his grandchildren Denise (David Breen), Elliot and Tracy, Cameron Vandal, Randean, Nicholas and Raven, and his great-grand-children Emma and Elie Breen. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd. Interment to be held in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to D'Arcy's Arc, Animal Rescue, 730B Century Street, Winnipeg, MB R3H 0M1 or Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3.
