JERRY MCKAY April 10, 1949 - November 16, 2009 With family by his side, Jerry peacefully passed away at Eriksdale Hospital, on November 16, 2009. He will be forever missed by his wife of 40 years, Dianne, son Alvin (Laura) and grandchildren, Skye, Kashtin, Jullien; daughter Tammy (Ivor) and grandchildren, Cody, Tashina, Rayne, Simone, Christopher, all from St. Laurent; his mother, Maude, from Winnipeg; brother Norman (June); sister Doreen Bilsborrow (Richard); sister Louise McKay; brother Melvin; brother Raymond (Lorraine); brother Russell; sister Diane La bonté (George). Uncle Jerry will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his Dad Frank, his sister Agnes, and brothers George, Kenneth, Jullien. Jerry was born in St. Laurent, where he lived until 1969, then moved to Alberta, until he decided to return home in September, 2009. Jerry worked as a carpenter most of his life, he had his own hardwood flooring company in Calgary. He will always be remembered by his wonderful attitude toward life, he was a very sociable person, he particularly enjoyed joking around and teasing people, always welcoming visitors and always had something nice to say to everyone. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Jerry always looked forward to his favourite pastime; spending time as a family man, going camping, doing some fishing, bowling, and in later years, competing in professional pool tournaments in Las Vegas. Prayers will be said on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church. Special thanks to the staff at Eriksdale Hospital and to Dr. Burnett, for his wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
