RONALD ADAM KROCHUK 1936 - 2009 Ronald Krochuk, of Burlington, ON, died peacefully November 9, 2009. He is survived by his sons Ronald John, and Timothy Adam of Boston, MA, granddaughters Billie Ann and Shelby of Burlington. He is also survived by his sister Lillian Mazur and nephews Bruce and Bobby. Ronald Adam graduated valedictorian 1959 from the University of Winnipeg (formerly United College). It was here where he met, and later married, the late Shirley Ann Krochuk (nee Monkhouse). Ronald ( Big Kro ) enjoyed a successful career in radio sales and marketing, with positions from Winnipeg (CJOB) to Montreal (CHAD), from Toronto (CFRB) to Hamilton (CHML/CKDS, CKMW, CFNY). He was a passionate man who worked hard for his community and family: whether supporting daffodil drives for the Cancer Society, playing coach and greatest fan to the local boys' hockey teams, or putting his talents behind a 14-year-old's aspiration to have his own computer business (that launched with no one less than the local Mayor and Premier in attendance.) His wife, Shirley, was his best friend whose accomplishments as a Registered Nurse he could not have been more proud or complimentary of. She was his life's partner and true love. Ronald will be remembered as a man who tirelessly worked to be the success he did become - as a radio man, as a husband and as a father. He will be laid to rest alongside his wife in Oakville, MB. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in his memory to Shirley Krochuk Memorial Fund, Fund 1080, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, 40 Wellington St. North, P.O. Box 739, LCD1, Hamilton, ON L8N 3M8.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I am so sorry to learn that your Dad passed away. Your mom and dad made us all so welcome at your house. I especially remember your dad flipping pancakes after a prom. They were always watching you play hockey, Ron, while you were reading a book in the stands, Tim. They were so proud of both of you, their very different sons. I am so sorry that they are both gone. I'm sure that you and your children have really kept your dad going all these years since your mom passed away. Thinking of you fondly.
