Jo-Anne was born in Zwartsluis, The Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada in 1952, settling in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Dirk, her sons William and Charles, her brothers Jaap and Marinus, and sisters Marie and Tina. Mourning her loss are her children, Dirk and Noella, Harold and Brenley (Jennifer, Kristi), John and Sharon (Jonathon, Joya, Sonya, David), Robert and Anne (Robyn, Robert, Matthew), Timothy and MaryAnn (Renata, Dirk, Nikolas, Alexander), Jacqueline and Gordon (Justin, Chad), Anne-Marie and Bill (Thomas, Timothy), David and Karen (Lane, Lukas), Paul and Maureen (Reid, Reagan, Callen), Gwendolyne and Craig (Nikolaas, Cadence). She also leaves a sister Catrien, in the Netherlands and a brother, Jelle, in Ontario. Jo-Anne was a lifelong member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church and dedicated her life to raising her family. She was an avid knitter, smocker, and regular blood donor. The family would like to thank the staff of Kildonan Personal Care home for their compassionate care of our mother. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 24th, at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Ave., with Rev. Douma officiating. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvin Christian School, 245 Sutton, Winnipeg, R2G 0T1.
