Died at home November 17, 2009, Victoria, BC surrounded by her loving family. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Calvin, and children Cathy (Punch), Arlene (Wendy), Paul, Diane (Dave), Laura (Cory); sisters Freda Ramage and Ina Weisner; grandchildren Carrie, Sarah and James Jackson, Skye, Siggy and Sam Skagfeld, Jordan and Benji Dyck, Cameron and Emily St. Godard, Kieran and Celina Waters; great-grandchild Aidan Chelsberg. Predeceased by parents Charles and Agnes and sisters Anne, Violet, Vinnie and Florence. Some of Lila's many virtues include understanding, patience, respect for all, courage, modesty, caring and gentleness. She was an excellent listener. Lila's intelligence and creative talents flourished through life long learning and growth. Above all she taught by word and example what is true unconditional love. Our devoted wife and mother taught life's lessons to her last breath. Lila volunteered with Christ Lutheran Church and Luther Home in Winnipeg, CUSO in Papua, New Guinea and Hospice in Victoria. The family would like to thank all her doctors, nurses, cancer clinic and Palliative Care staff, her pastor and friends for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Victoria Cancer Clinic or a charity of your choice. Celebration of Life at First Memorial on Falaise Dr., Tuesday, November 24, 2:00 p.m.
