JOHN BARRY DOCKING Barry passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, November 19, 2009 with family at his side. Remaining to forever cherish Barry's memory are Doreen his loving wife of 28 years; daughter Gaye; brothers Bill (Edith), Wayne (Michelle); sisters, Hazel Del Bello (Serno), Joyce Holman; sisters-in-law, Arlene Docking and Marlene Lawler (Don), and brother-in-law Don White (Sharon). Uncle Barry will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Clair and brother-in-law Peter Holman. Born in Terence, MB in 1934, Barry spent his childhood in Forrest and Neepawa where he enjoyed many good times with his siblings. He was employed in Thorold, ON at the Ontario Paper Mill and later with The St. James School Division in Winnipeg. In 1981 he married his best friend Doreen and together they enjoyed many years of curling, skiing, golf, travelling, summers at Nutimik Lake and winters in Palm Desert, CA. Despite many years of poor health he maintained his keen sense of humour and very contagious laugh. Barry's celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue) with his niece Karen Hutchison officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barry's memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
