Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANET EVELYN ROBERTSON (nee TOOGOOD) October 23, 1931 - November 17, 2009 Janet passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the age of 78 years. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 55 years, Dave, formerly of Marquette, MB, sons Hugh and George (Penny) Matheson, Gord (Jane) and Allen Robertson. Daughters Donna (Gary) Tait, and Loreen (Rick Hogg). Grandchildren Lisa, Carla, Nikki , Lindsey, Kelly, Glen, Clayton, KC, Joelle, Alex, Kevin, Jared and great-grandchildren. Janet is survived by sister Helen (George) Liebrecht and chosen sister Gladys (Lorne) Sorenson, numerous aunts, uncles, in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and by special friend Blanche Tully. She was predeceased by her parents, Celie and Hubie (Olive) Toogood and sister May. Mom was born and raised in Marquette. She attended Meadow Lea School and at an early age developed a love for softball at which she excelled. During this time she met Dave Robertson. A friendship grew and they were married on July 2, 1954. They established the Robertson dairy farm in Marquette and she was dedicated to farm life and raising her children. They retired from the farm in 1996 and enjoyed their retirement years travelling and taking in many fiddle festivals, making numerous new friends and spending time with the grand kids and family. Mom's most memorable moments were reflecting on her pitching career with the Meadow Lea softball team. Attending Old Time dances was a favourite pastime in which many lasting friendships were developed. Mom enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars and listening to Polka Party every Saturday Night. She loved following her children and grandchildren in their many sporting events. She also cherished the many family gatherings held over the years. Janet was a good Mother and Granny to all her children and grandchildren. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the staff of Rosewood Lodge Home Care for their outstanding care and concern. We will miss you forever and always. A Celebration of Janet's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 28, 2009 at Meadow Lea Hall. Flowers are gratefully declined.
