JOHN ANTHONY ZEILER John passed away after a brief illness in Ajax, Ontario on Remembrance Day, 2009. John was born April 4, 1920 in Berndorf, Austria and came to Winnipeg in 1928 with his parents Fred and Marie and brother Fred. He served in the Canadian Army in the Second World War. He worked with his dad in F. Zeiler Sons Const. Co. and moved to Toronto in the late 50s, working for CNR for 30 years. Dad loved music, played the violin and taught us all to appreciate opera and the classics. Art was another passion and he enjoyed travelling, sports, golf, animals and loved his cabin at Brereton Lake where he spent many hours with his family playing cards, fishing, and boating. He is survived by daughters Jacqueline (Gord) Zechel, and Barbara (Wally) Mesojednik, son Frank (Karen) and daughters Gladys (Ed) Grant and Corinne (Bill) Smith and grandchildren Kimberly (Don), Jackie (Trent), Gordon (Catherine), Curtis (Tanya), Deborah, James (Tina), Sean (Chantelle), Kristen (Pat), Brian, Kyle, Brandon, and Holly, great-grandchildren Eduard, Erin, Adam, Andrew, Marcus, Montana, Matthew, Meaghan, and Brandon, Melissa, Joshua, Danielle, and Haydon. Dad, thanks for all the memories and for the things you've taught us. You'll be in our hearts always. Love you! Cremation has taken place in Ontario and according to his wishes, no service will be held.
