DAVID WALTER GILLIES November 7, 1925 - November 13, 2009 On Friday, November 13, 2009 Dave Gillies passed away peacefully at the age of 84. Dave is survived by the loves of his life: wife Jane, daughters Angie (Dean) and Evelyn (Mike); cherished grandsons Scott, Jeffrey, and Sean (Lori), and his favourite niece Helen. We are forever grateful for his unconditional love, strength, wisdom and quick wit. Dave was born in Delisle, Saskatchewan. He made his way to Red Lake, Ontario where he met and married the love of his life, Jane and where their two daughters were born. In 1970, they moved to Winnipeg where they raised their family. He loved music and played the accordion joyously. Dave had a zest for life, he always saw the glass half full. He brought smiles to his family and friends through his jokes and witty humour. As per dad's request our family gathered at a private memorial service Wednesday, November 18 to bid him farewell. Interment is at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. Please remember him with love and the good times you've shared. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of River East Personal Care Home for their compassionate care of Dave over the past three years.
