Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREDA BELLE HENDRICK Very gently, on November 18, 2009, our dear mother left us. Born in Fannystelle, Manitoba on October 29, 1919, Freda Belle Laidlaw began her journey. Her early years were spent on the farm in Portage La Prairie with her mother Annabelle, father Fred, sisters Agnes and Hazel, and brother Norman. She went to work at an early age in Winnipeg where she met and married our dad, Marshall Hendrick on March 30, 1940. She was a working mom, having spent several years with Shell Oil and eventually with the Unemployment Insurance Commission where she rose through the ranks to be an Insurance Officer and Supervisor. Her retirement years were spent in Victoria where she and our dad were extremely active in the curling and boating communities. They loved their new seaside life with their son Fred, wife Susan, and children Kaitlyn and James, and with their daughter Joy, and her sons Gerrett and Nash. We offer our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Island View Place for their kindness and loving care. Our mom will be deeply and forever missed. A service will eventually be held on March 30, 2010 when she will join our dad in the Veterans Cemetery on their wedding anniversary. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Heart and Stoke Foundation.
