(AKA-JOKER) After a brief illness with cancer John died peacefully early Saturday, November 21, 2009 at home with his common-law wife and family by his side. Predeceased by his daughter Olivia (1979) at the age of four, Amanda (1986) in infancy. His grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He leaves to mourn his parents Pearl and John Desjarlais of Scanterbury, common-law wife Cheryl Michaud of four years. His children Shane (Kendra), Jesse, Brandi, and stepchildren Kevin McIvor (Rachel), Christine McIvor (John) Jeremy McIvor, Christine Michaud (Joe), Thomas Michaud, Jordan Michaud, and Denise Michaud, and grandchild Naveah, two brothers, seven sisters, Rosanne (Louis), Lorraine of Winnipeg, Marcella (Richard), Vianna of Winnipeg, Karen (Jim), Cynthia, Eldon (Denise) in BC., Farrell (Lorraine) and Heather (Al), half brother Kenny McCorrister (Faye) of Winnipeg, half sister Bernice McCorrister (Glen) of Winnipeg, mother-in-law Edith Chief, brother-in-law Mervin Michaud (Darlene) both of Winnipeg, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Active pallbearers: Allan Hocaluk, Kevin McIvor, Garnet Desjarlais Jr., Darryl Desjarlais, Orton Desjarlais, Joe Wesley. Honourary pallbearers: Clifford Chief, Ron Wesley, Leonard Sinclair, John Wesley, Jim Prince, Leon Johnston, and Kevin Thomas and Allan Knechtel. Pastor Ray Settee officiating. Wake, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at BON Bingo Place, Scanterbury, Manitoba. Funeral Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sargeant Tommy Prince School gym.
