THEODORE (TED) THOMAS DOBBS January 28, 1926 - November 21, 2009 We are sad to announce the sudden passing of our husband and father at home on Saturday, November 21 at the age of 83 years old, following a short illness. Remaining to forever cherish Ted's memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Audrey; daughters Lori Janower (Lenard) and Sherri (Tom Durrell) of Regina; brother-in-law Hugh Walker (Sheena), brother-in-law Joe Lechowicz; sisters-in-law Olga Dobrowolski, Evelyn Scott and Teri Walker of Victoria and cousin Carol Ann Odwazny (Roman) of Regina. Uncle Teddy will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Anna Dobrowolski; brother Carl and sister Helen Lechowicz. Ted was born in Winnipeg in 1926, where his family lived until they moved to Domain in 1936 to farm. After graduating from high school, he moved back to the city where he worked at Crane Ltd., Western Supplies and later Acklands. After 22 years as a sales representative with Acklands he retired in 1988. Prior to retirement Ted enjoyed many activities, including bowling, curling, hunting and fishing. After retirement he and Audrey enjoyed many pleasurable hours with family and friends playing cards and socializing. He also loved to visit his special places: the farm and Lori and Len's cottage. In keeping with Ted's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. However, the family extends an invitation to join them for a celebration of Ted's life at a luncheon to be held in Wojcik's Reception Centre in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. at Manitoba Ave., on Thursday, November 26, at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ted's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3 or a charity of one's choice. Rest in Peace Teddy Bear
