IRENE PHYLOMENE LABOSSIERE (nee BOURRIER) Irène passed away peacefully at Foyer Valade with her children at her side on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the age of 88 years, the beloved wife of the late Lionel Labossière. She leaves to mourn her children, Laurette (Don) Loiselle, Maurice (Natalie), Antoinette (Gilles) Vermette, Marcien (Laurette), Antonin (Rita), Georges (Rita), 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters Emma (Don) DeGypère and Marina (Ron) Proteau, two sisters-in-law Rose and Isabelle, brother-in-law Hermas (Cécile) and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son Luc in July 1960 as well as brothers, Léon, Antoine and sisters Thérèse, Marthe and Emerance. Irène was born in 1921 in Saint-Lupicin, MB. Irène was a very compassionate and caring person. Her family always came first. She truly appreciated the beauty of nature's wonders; she loved gardening and caring for her flowers. Irène loved dancing and listening to music. She also enjoyed reading. Her faith was strong and it carried her through difficult times. Maman you will surely be missed by all who knew and loved you. The family would like to thank the staff at Foyer Valade for all their care and compassion they gave mom. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 28 at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Roman Catholic Church, 289 Dussault Avenue. Interment will take place at Lorette Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
