ROY ALVIN JEFFERY (FOX) On November 24, 2009 Roy Alvin Jeffery passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 78 years. Roy was born in Oak Point, Manitoba on October 22, 1931. He worked on Lake Manitoba as a Commercial Fisherman for many years but eventually went to work on the rail. Soon after, he married, moved to Winnipeg and began working as a welder for Kleysons trucking. He retired 38 years later and became the Garage-Sale-King of Fort Garry. Roy loved to hunt in the fall, have his garage sales all year long and he always had a joke to tell anyone who would listen. Roy was predeceased by his beloved wife Bertha; brothers Lesley, Lindey and Ted and his parents Walter and Johanna. Roy leaves to mourn, his only daughter Wendy (Damian) and grandchildren Tyler and Royce. He will be missed by his sister Patsy; nieces Kristina and Stacy; brother Larry (Shirley); nephew Terry; nieces Joy and Gay; nephews Lyle, Craig and Darrell. On the Byron side he will be missed by Maudie (Stan); nieces Rylee and Patty and nephew Brian. Roy touched the hearts of his many friends and relatives who he befriended with much kindness. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street with the Rev. Stott MacAuley officiating. A private family interment will take place in Oak Point at a later date. Roy's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Marie and Paddy for all their love and support. Thanks also to Dr. Penner and the entire staff of the Victoria General Hospital for the kindness and care given to Roy during his time there.
