GERALD (GERRY) KOLODY Gerry was born on August 9, 1947 in Winnipeg and died peacefully on November 23, 2009 with his wife, family and close friends at his side. Gerry's illness was brief and he endured it with dignity, grace and his usual sense of humour which helped those around him. Gerry and Susan lived in Calgary for many years and enjoyed rock hounding, camping trips and his special fondness for fishing with his family, particularly his Dad. Gerry was of a quiet nature and strength and was a generous brother and friend. He is loved and missed by his wife Susan Diane (McDonald), parents Nicholas and Anne Kolody, sister Patsy and John Christie, brother Stephen and Veronica, sister Anne, sister-in-law Andrea and Doug Bradie, aunts, nieces, nephews and very good friends. Gerry was predeceased by his sister Vera Dufault. The family wants to extend special thanks to the kind, dedicated staff at the Victoria Hospital for their gentle care. Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
