Peacefully on November 24, 2009 our Mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Josie passed away to join her beloved husband Lin who predeceased her May 1989. She is survived by her seven children Linda and Edwin Dodd, Sharon and Bob Chenier, Lindsay and Wanda, Wayne, Brian and Colleen, Lyle and Clare, Gail and Jon McDougall; grandchildren Blair and Lovey Dodd, Gary Dodd, Leanne and Mike Paulicelli, Darrell and Kerry Harris, Duane Harris, Kelsey and Kevin Clelland, Brenley Harris, Trevor Harris, Scott Harris; great-grandchildren Kyle Dodd, Braidon Harris, Noah and Lauryn Paulicelli, Brendan and Tarynn Clelland, Taylor Chenier; sister Ivy and Allan Backman; brothers Eddie and Louise Sigurdson, Franklin and Ella Sigurdson; sister-in-law Myrtle Paterson; brother-in-law Fred Burdett; special niece Bev Harris; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Lin, she was predeceased by her parents Johannes and Katie Sigurdson, daughter-in-law Karen Windsor Harris, sister Audrey Burdett, brothers and sisters-in-law Ken Paterson, Cliff and Laufey Harris, Will and Lil Harris. Mom was born September 4, 1923 in Hove district. She married Lin Harris on May 20, 1944. They farmed in Clarkleigh area. In 1955 they moved to Stonewall to provide better opportunities for their family. Mom's family was her whole life. She enjoyed cards, sewing, knitting, dancing, making Granny buns, gardening and especially her flowers. Her home was always filled with beautiful flowers. She missed her dog Dusty who was her companion for 17 years after our dad's passing. She enjoyed watching her children play baseball, hockey and curling. She was a Toronto Maple Leaf and Blue Jays fan. She enjoyed her trips to Minneapolis to watch the Blue Jays play. She loved visits from family, shopping trips, visits to cottage, dinner outings and family get-togethers. Mom was the most loving, kind, gentle and unselfish person who always put her family first. A private family service will be held on Saturday, November 28 at 1:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel. In her memory, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Pallbearers will be grandsons Blair, Gary and Kyle Dodd, Duane and Darrell Harris, Trevor and Scott Harris. My happy life has truly passed I loved you all to the very last Weep not for me but courage take Love each other for my sake.
