GUENTER HEILE 1930 - 2009 It is with great sadness the family of Guenter Heile announces his passing, with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Westpark Manor at the age of 79. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Lilly, of 52 years, daughter Susan (Roger) and their children Anjolie and Daniel; son Bruce (Shamala) and their children in Australia; daughter Karen (Rick) and their children Tyler, Matthew and Ashley; daughter Anne and her children Jordan and Brittany; his family in Germany and close friends Rainer and Ursula Damm. Guenter immigrated from Germany in 1953 to Canada and began his mining career in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, where he brought his new wife and built his first home with his own hands. In 1961 they moved to Thompson, MB where they resided until his retirement from Inco in 1990. Many friends and wonderful memories were created in Thompson, which is reflected in the photos taken and developed by Dad for every occasion. There was a period where much of the family lived in Indonesia. Guenter enjoyed much of the experiences that he encountered while he was in Indonesia and many stories would be recounted in the presence of family and friends until the end of his life. Guenter loved fishing, gardening and traveling. He was fortunate in his lifetime to have traveled and seen almost every part of the world. Dad's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family especially when he was able to put his photography skills to use. Dad was a soft-spoken, gentle man who enjoyed animals and the beauty of nature. We would like to thank the staff of Westpark Manor for their compassion and care of our father during the past two years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Guenter's memory to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 302-171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1M4 or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3. As per Guenter's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
