EDITH M. HOUSTON Peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2009, with her son at her side Edith went to her eternal rest at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 93 years. Edith will be sadly missed by her son Robert of Winnipeg; daughter Margaret (Geoff) of Victoria BC; six grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Stan in 1981. Being a lifelong resident of Winnipeg, Edith spent many happy summers at the family cottage in Winnipeg Beach. She had celebrated her 93rd birthday on November 15. She was a longtime volunteer for the Red Cross Society and was very active in the curling scene as well as being the past President of the Fort Rouge Ladies Curling Club and the Manitoba Ladies Curling Association. As per Edith's request, no formal funeral service will be held. The family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care during her short stay. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Edith's memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3J2.
