ROBERTO G. VERUELA SR. Sgt. Roberto (AFP), also known as Joe passed away peacefully at the age of 57, on November 21, 2009, with family at his side. Roberto was born on July 10, 1952, in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, son of Alejandro and Florentina. Roberto was the oldest of nine siblings. As a young adult, he served the Philippine Constabulary Metropolitan Command, Presidential Security. In 1977, he married Trinidad Ferrer and followed her overseas to Winnipeg. Roberto worked hard as a welder at Westeel Rosco. He truly lived his life for his loved ones, always putting them before himself. He loved to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also loved to fix, build, and invent things. He will always be remembered as a wise, respected, patient man with a great sense of humour and a kind soul who appreciated life's simple joys. He touched the lives of all who knew him. Roberto leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years, Trinidad, children Mark, Bob, and Krystle, brothers and sisters, Ato, Ador, Jessie, Noel, Edwin, Auring, Ebot, and Alice, extended family, and dear friends. Roberto was predeceased by his parents, Alejandro and Florentina, and brother Nanding. Viewing (Lamay) will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Thursday, December 3, and Friday, December 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Edward's Church, 818 Arlington St., on Saturday, December 5, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Thomson in the Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg. The family of Roberto would like to extend their deepest gratitude to friends and the staff of CancerCare Manitoba, the GH4 wing at Health Sciences Centre, and the Palliative Ward at St. Boniface Hospital for their support during our time of need. Roberto was a great husband, father, brother, and friend. You will be loved, missed, and remembered always. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
