PURIFICACION (PURING) NOMBRADO (TOLENTINO)
Date of Passing: Nov 26, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPURIFICACION (PURING) NOMBRADO (nee TOLENTINO) Peacefully at Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, November 26, 2009, Purificacion (Puring) Nombrado (nee Tolentino) in her 75th year. Devoted wife and best friend of Victorino (Turing) Nombrado. Loving mother and grandmother to late Maria Teresita Nombrado and Faustino Falceso (children - John Vic and Jona-Lyn), Nora Nombrado Simon (Adrian Peters) (children - Ariane Rose (Ryan) Bayle and Casey Leigh Simon (Jonathan), Rick and Favie Nombrado (children - Timothy Erick and Erika Ashley), Susan Victoria and Herbert Makkink (child - Allyza Victoria) of Switzerland, and Victor Nombrado (children - Nason Alexander Quinn and Tynan Archer Christopher). Great-Grandma to the special one and only great-grandchild Anthony Alexander Bayle. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Lucia Sagun and late Adriano Sagun Sr. of Edmonton, Alberta. Predeceased by brother and sister-in-law Hidalgo and Hermina Cablao; and Marciano and Florentina Lopez as well as sister and brother-in-law Fortunata and Marcial David, Maria and Simon Manuntag all from the Philippines. She will be missed dearly by many nieces, nephews, inaanaks, and cousins from the Philippines, Edmonton, Hawaii, California, Nevada, Georgia, Saudi Arabia and Wales. Purificacion (known to many as Aling Puring or Nanay Puring) Nombrado was born in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija Philippines to Pablo Lopez (Baltao) and Teofila Torres Tolentino. She was also known as many things to people who knew her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, excited great-grandmother, dedicated sister, dependable aunt, reliable ninang (godmother) and a good and loyal friend to each and everyone who she had a chance to encounter in her lifetime. She is not very easy to get to know as she had always busied her life towards earning a living for her family. She was always thinking of her family before her own. She sacrificed her comfort to immigrate to Canada in 1969 even if it means leaving her family behind in the Philippines and live alone for 10 years because she knew that in the end - her family's future needed to be secured. She looked tough in the exterior, but soft-hearted inside. She will give anything that she can give to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren because to see these dear people in her life happy brought the few genuine smiles that you would rarely see on her face. She prided herself to be one of the garment worker pioneers in the late 1960s. For many years, she had worked as a Supervisor / Production Manager for Kaplan Manufacturing and later retired with Western Glove Works. Lamay will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 28 and 29 at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home followed by cremation. Anyone who wishes to make a donation in Puring's memory can be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors and staff of Health Sciences Centre especially the Sherbrook and Central Dialysis Unit. To the extended family, friends and everyone else who offered support to Puring's family, thank you. It is when you lose someone that you realize how much this someone can mean to you as a person; and how much you really love and care for this someone. It is painful, nevertheless, inevitable. We love you, Nay. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
