BESSIE STARANCHUK It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Bessie Staranchuk (nee Krakalovich) who passed away November 27, 2009. Mom was born in Arran, SK on January 20, 1923. She moved to Winnipeg in 1945 where she met and later married our father, Bill Staranchuk in July 1947. They moved to Ethelbert, MB where they farmed until they retired and moved to Winnipeg to be near their children. She was predeceased by her beloved son David in December 1974 and husband Bill in March 2001. She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters, Cheryl (Dave), Jo-Ann (Gerald), Brenda (Neal); her pride and joy her grand-children: Brant (Colleen), Kim (Brent), Monica (Kevin), Lee Ann (Lorne), Chelsea, twins Cole and Clay; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Lexi, and new twins Aiden and Brady. She is also survived by her brother Steven and sisters, Mary Dudar, Dorothy Skipp and Sally Minsky. Prayers will be held Monday (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ethelbert, MB. Rev. Fr. Yaroslav Strukhlyak officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. The family would like to thank the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for their care and support in the last year.
