JANICE FUNK (nee BROWN) September 13, 1945 - November 28, 2009 It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Janice Funk from the complications of her long struggle with lymphoma. She left behind her husband of 45 years, Edgar and daughter Dawn (Jason) Wilson. She will be missed also by her sisters Shirley Allen and Susan Burden; brother Wayne Brown (all of London, ON); sisters-in-law Laurie (Mark) Giesbrecht, Darlene (Lyle) Albers (both of Edmonton, AB) and Agatha (Ron) Klein, and many nieces, nephews and very close friends. Janice was predeceased by her son Dean; parents Jennie and Ray Brown; brother Robert Brown and brother-in-law Wilfred Funk. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Cremation will follow the service and a private family interment will take place at St. Vital Cemetery. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of the Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba for all of their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or to a charity of choice.
