Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIVIAN MABEL HAIGH (nee WILLEMS) Vivian passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Concordia Place with family at her side. She was born on April 28, 1920 to Jack and Millie Willems, one of the first families to settle in Morse Place. Viv was predeceased by her husband, Lt. Allen Haigh in 1946, brothers Howard Willems and his wife Anne, Norman Willems, and sister Doreen Tennese. Left to cherish her memory are her only daughter Bev Kirk of Ottawa, three grandchildren, Allen Kirk (Beckie) of Houston, TX; Sheri Kirk of Calgary and Camilla Kirk of London, UK, three great-grandchildren, Jack, Cooper and Charlie Kirk. She is also survived by sister-in-law Marjorie Daman-Willems of Kelowna, ten nieces and nephews and their families. Viv enjoyed bowling, bingo and making her well-known traditional shortbread as Christmas treats for family and friends. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Saviours Anglican Church. She particularly enjoyed the little people of the congregation during Easter and Christmas when she could be seen with her basket of goodies for them. Viv was employed by the Singer Sewing Machine Company for over 20 years, then joined the Winnipeg Supply and Fuel Company where she made many new friends whose companionship she valued until her passing. The family wishes to thank the staff of Concordia Place Palliative Unit for their care, love and friendship to our mother/grandmother. A special thank you to Sandra and Diane for their compassion and support, and to John Frieson, Chaplain for his spiritual help and guidance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at St. Saviours Anglican Church, 690 Munroe Avenue.
