Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFRED BARRA With sadness the family of Alfred Barra announces his passing. Alfred died in a trucking accident on November 1, 2009 at around 10:00 a.m. just east of the Highway 17 - Highway 71 Junction near Kenora. He is survived by his ex-wife Ramona Bendiksen (nee Toma), his two sons, Jonathon and Joseph Barra, and his brother Albert Barra as well as many cousins. Alfred was born in a small hamlet called Jordan in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on December 26, 1944. His family immigrated to Canada (Swan River first) in the early 1950s where he grew up on a dairy farm first in Kelowna and then in Armstrong, BC. He will be remembered for the character he was by all those who knew him. You will be missed.

My mom Cleo Barra met him when I was 5 & married him when I was 7. I am thinking 1973 in Vegas. If memory serves me correctly :) He was definitely a character as his obituary says. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He was the only father I knew and he will be missed! Sincere condolences to his friends and family. I am truly sorry for your loss and heart break.
